Strategy for the development of digital skills in teachers

In the context of the digital transformation that profoundly impacts the educational field, the integration of information and communication technologies (ICT) into teaching and learning processes has become an unavoidable necessity. Within this framework, the present research aimed to design a strategy to strengthen the digital competencies of teachers at Liceo Ángel Osiris Osorio González during the 2024–2025 school year. The population and sample consisted of 25 teachers from the first and second cycles of the secondary level, using a census sampling method. The methodology employed was a mixed approach, with a non-experimental and correlational design, applying techniques such as questionnaires, direct observation, and interviews. The results revealed significant weaknesses in the management and pedagogical integration of technologies, as well as limited continuous training. It was evident that many teachers face difficulties both in the basic handling of technological tools and in their pedagogical application in the classroom. Despite having some familiarity with digital devices, their use is generally limited to administrative or basic functions, without significant integration into teaching and learning processes. In response, a training strategy was designed based on active methodologies and accessible tools, validated by specialists who confirmed its feasibility and relevance. Therefore, it is concluded that the designed strategy not only addresses the current challenges of the educational environment but also represents a key tool to promote more dynamic, inclusive, and innovative teaching.
