Abstract

The general objective of this research was to develop a flipped classroom strategy to improve students' motivation in Spanish in the first grade of the lower primary cycle at the Manuela Díez Jiménez School in San Pedro de Macorís. The methodology used was a mixed approach, employing quantitative and qualitative scientific methods. The study was descriptive and exploratory due to the level of knowledge it aims to achieve. Among the most relevant results of the study were that students have little motivation in learning Spanish, lack interest in reading and writing, and the vast majority are in the syllabic stage. The strategy was evaluated by three experts in the field of study, who gave it an excellent rating. The study concludes by indicating that students need help to improve their motivation in the Spanish language course. The strategy was implemented with a small group of students, and after its implementation, it was observed that they were more motivated to take the Spanish language course and participate in it.
